Notifications

How notifications work in BackOps

The notification bell in the top navigation shows a live unread count scoped to where you are in BackOps. Clicking it opens an inbox listing activity relevant to you across tasks, files, and collaborators.

What triggers a notification

Notifications are generated for the following:

  • A task is assigned to you
  • You are added as a file reviewer
  • A collaborator is added or removed on an event you are part of

The inbox

The bell shows your current unread count. Clicking it opens a panel listing your notifications, each showing what changed, who made the change, and when. Clicking a notification takes you to the relevant item.

You can mark individual notifications as read or mark all as read at once.

The inbox scope follows your current context. Inside an event, it shows notifications for that event. At the organization level, it shows org-wide activity.

Email delivery

BackOps sends an email to the address on your account for the same events that generate in-app notifications. Each email includes a direct link to the relevant item.

Subscriptions

BackOps subscribes you to items automatically based on your involvement:

  • Tasks: when you are assigned as owner or added as a reviewer
  • Files: when you upload a file or are added as a reviewer
  • Events: when you are added as a collaborator

You are not notified about changes you make yourself.
