Getting Around BackOps: The Rail, Home, and the Sidebar

How the left rail lists your organizations and personal pages, what Home shows across every organization, and how the organization sidebar and Settings are laid out.

BackOps has two layers of navigation. The rail on the far left is yours: it lists the organizations you belong to and the pages that follow you everywhere. The sidebar next to it belongs to the organization you have open.

The Rail

At the top of the rail are your personal pages, which sit outside any organization:

  • Home, your landing page after sign-in
  • Schedule, every activity you are on
  • Notifications, from all your organizations
  • Inbox, your communications

Below them are your organizations, sorted A to Z. Up to seven appear as tiles; the organization you have open always keeps a tile. The rest sit behind a +N button that opens a searchable list of all your organizations. A dot on a tile means that organization has unread notifications, and a dot on +N means one of the hidden ones does. The + button creates a new organization.

At the bottom, your avatar opens Settings for your profile and notification preferences, the theme, and Sign out. Your profile picture follows your account everywhere you appear, and only you can change it. Your name and email come from your sign-in account.

Home

Home greets you and shows three lists. Agenda and Tasks span every event you are crew on; Notifications span your organizations.

  • Agenda: the activities you are on, day by day
  • Tasks: open tasks assigned to you and tasks waiting on your review, with each one's due date or how many days late it is
  • Notifications: your unread and read notifications, which you can mark as read or archive

Agenda and Tasks read from active events only. If you do not belong to any organization yet, Home offers Create organization.

The Organization Sidebar

Inside an organization the sidebar lists:

  • Events, Schedule, Tasks, and Documents
  • Operations: Procurements, Orders, Coverage, and Inventory, shown to people who can read the resource inventory
  • Records: Crew, Collaborators, Departments, and Locations

Settings, at the foot of the sidebar, is for organization admins. It replaces the sidebar with its own list:

  • Organization: General, Members, Billing, API Keys, Integrations, Blacklist
  • Types: Events, Crew, Collaborators, Locations, Project Management
  • Templates: Event Templates, Resource Templates, Advance Templates

Press Esc or use the back button to return to the organization.
