Planning content items for event screens and signage
Add the content your event needs to Content Management, tie each item to an activity, and attach the Drive files and deliverables that hold the material.
A content item is one thing that will be shown at your event: a walk-in loop, a keynote deck, a sponsor reel, a printed program. This page covers adding content items and keeping their files current. Scheduling them onto screens is covered in surfaces and scheduling.
Adding Content
Open Content Management
Add the item
Click Add content and give it a name. The description is optional and holds formatted text, which is a good place for specs and notes for whoever produces it.
Link an activity
Under Activity, pick the session or schedule item the content belongs to. Leave it empty for content that runs across the whole event, such as a house loop.
Attach files
Files are picked from the event Drive, not uploaded in the dialog. Upload the material to the Drive first, or attach a deliverable, a Drive placeholder for a file a collaborator still owes you. See deliverables for how to request a file.
The Surfaces panel in the dialog lists every surface the content is scheduled on. It is read only; scheduling happens on the surface.
Finding Content
The Content tab lists every content item with its activity, the surfaces it is on, and its files. Use Search content... to find an item by name, activity, surface or file. The Description column is hidden by default and can be shown from the column settings.
Editing and Deleting Content
Click an item to open it and change its name, description, activity or files. Once an activity is linked it can be changed to another one, but clearing it in the dialog does not remove it. Removing a file from the list only detaches it; the file stays in the Drive.
Deleting a content item is permanent and also removes every content block that schedules it, on every surface. The files it pointed to stay in the Drive.
