Provider Offerings for Collaborator Rates
Record that a collaborator such as a rental house or freelancer supplies a resource type, and keep that provider's own rate cards separate from your resource type's cards.
A provider offering records that a collaborator supplies a resource type at their own prices. A rental house that rents you box trucks, or a freelance audio company that supplies A1s, is a provider: you do not own what they supply, so it is not inventory, but you still want their rates on file.
Why Offerings Are Separate
Your resource type's rate cards say what the type costs you and what you charge when you supply it yourself. A provider has their own price list, and two providers of the same type rarely charge the same. Keeping each provider's prices on the offering, rather than as more cards on the type, means the type's cards stay your own and each provider's prices stay with that provider.
An offering links three things: the collaborator from your Collaborator Database who provides it, the resource type they supply, and the offering's own rate cards. An offering's cards are separate from the type's cards and never appear in the type's list. The first card you add becomes the offering's default.
Offerings stay at the organization level and are not copied into events.
Add a Provider Offering
Open provider offerings
Choose the provider and type
Pick the Collaborator and the Resource type they supply, and optionally enter a Label such as "Box trucks, weekly". Choose Add.
Add a rate card for the provider
In the offering's Rate cards section, choose Add rate card. It opens on its own page, where you enter rates, minimums and billing clocks the same way as on a resource type's card.
Choose the default
You can also add and review a collaborator's offerings from their collaborator record, on the Offerings tab, where the collaborator is already filled in.
Managing Offerings
The Provider offerings table shows each offering with its Offering label, Provider, Resource and Default rate. Opening an offering lets you change its resource type and label; the collaborator cannot be changed once the offering exists.
Deleting one of an offering's cards is never blocked, because nothing outside the offering points at it. Deleting the default card makes another of the offering's cards the default.
