Managing Organization Members and the Invite Blacklist
How organization admins add members with a license seat and permissions, remove a member's access, edit pending invitations, and block emails or domains from being invited.
A member is someone with an account in your organization: a crew record with an account email, a license seat, and organization permissions. Members and pending invitations are listed together in Settings › Members, each with its Account and a Status of Active or Invited. Adding and removing members is for organization admins.
Add a Member
Select Add member
Enter their details
Give them an account
In the Account section, enter the account email to invite and choose the license seat they get. Email and license go together: set both, or leave both empty.
Set permissions
If the email already has a BackOps account, access is granted straight away and no email is sent. Otherwise BackOps sends an invitation and holds a seat for that address until they sign up. The invite is refused if there are not enough free seats for everyone you are adding, or if the person is already a member.
Leave the account email and license empty to add someone as a contact only: they go into your crew database with no account and no access. Bulk add adds several people at once.
While an invitation is pending, you can change the organization permissions it will grant. That sends no new email. Once the invitation is accepted, you change the member's permissions directly instead.
Remove a Member's Access
Open the actions menu on the member's row, select Remove user, and confirm. Their access ends: a pending invitation is voided and its held seat freed, and a connected account loses its organization permissions, its license seat, and its department and location access. Their crew record stays in your crew database. You cannot remove yourself.
The Blacklist
Settings › Blacklist stops chosen addresses from being invited to your organization or its events. Select Add entry and choose a type:
- Email blocks one exact address.
- Domain blocks every address at that domain.
A blacklist entry only blocks future invitations. It does not change existing crew records, accounts, or data. Remove an entry to allow invitations again. Only organization admins manage the blacklist.
