Uploading files and organizing folders in the Drive
Upload files to an event Drive, create folders, rename and move files and folders, and understand what deleting removes for good.
This page covers the everyday work in a Drive: getting files in, putting them in folders, and keeping things tidy. You need the Edit files role, or admin, on the section you are working in.
Uploading Files

Upload
Each upload becomes a new file record with its content as Version 1. To add a later revision of a file that is already there, add a version to it instead of uploading it again, so the history stays on one record. See versions and formats.
Uploads count against your organization's storage allowance. When an upload would go over it, the file is not uploaded and a message says the organization is over its allowance. If storage cannot be checked at that moment, try again shortly.
Creating Folders
Click New, then New folder, and name it. Folders can be nested as deep as you like.
Renaming, Moving and Editing
Each row's menu has Edit file (or Edit folder), which changes the name and description and needs Edit access. Move, Share and delete appear only with Admin access to the item.
Move opens a dialog where you pick the Destination folder in the same section; files and folders cannot move to another section. Move files one at a time rather than moving a folder that already has contents: the folder moves, but what was inside it does not show up in the new place.
Deleting
Delete file and Delete folder need admin access to the item. Deleting is permanent: there is no trash or restore. Deleting a file removes every version and format and its sharing. Deleting a folder removes everything inside it, including subfolders.
There is no copy or duplicate action. To reuse a file in another place, share it there instead; see sharing and permissions.
