The organization Drive for departments and locations
How the organization Drive holds files that belong to your company rather than one event, split into organization, department and location sections.
Some files outlive any single show: insurance policies, the equipment manual library, venue tech packs, safety procedures. The organization Drive holds them. It works like an event Drive, with the same files, versions, formats, folders, sharing and sharing links, but it is organized around your company instead of an event.
Opening the Organization Drive
In the organization sidebar, click Documents. The Drive's own sidebar lists Organization, Shared with me, Departments and Locations.
Organization holds company-wide files. Departments has a section per department, such as Audio or Lighting, and Locations a section per location, such as a warehouse or a venue you run. You see the sections your access allows. Shared with me lists what has been shared with you directly.
How It Differs From an Event Drive
| Event Drive | Organization Drive | |
|---|---|---|
| Sections | Event, collaborators, areas | Organization, departments, locations |
| Share with | Crew members, collaborators, areas | Accounts, departments, locations |
| Deliverable assigned to | A collaborator, due date optional | A department, due date required |
| Add menu | New, with Create file request | Add, with Add file request |
| Your own uploads | Shared with you automatically | Shared with you if you have a crew record in the organization |
Reviews work through reviewers you add to the file, and comments are kept on each version, as on event files. The organization Drive does not use event task statuses, so no setup is needed before adding reviewers.
Files do not move or copy between the organization Drive and an event Drive. Uploads to either count against the same organization storage allowance.
